For several decades the flow performance of the initial product has been kept to a limited level - due to severe environmental conditions of this under-hood application - even though the power dissipation requirements were increasing drastically.
Sunon has developed a breakthrough design fan matching the future flow performance requirements in addition to complying to the lifetime specification in harsh environmental conditions such as chemical resistance (break fluid, etc.) as well as high temperature (as high as 120°C) environment.
Comfort such as seat ventilations, independent modules, air purifier, etc.:
Ventilation module - as an additional function for the seat - enables not only a higher individual thermal comfort to the passengers, but also a lower vehicle consumption due to decreased solicitations in the main air conditioning system.
The challenge of this application was mostly related to the low NVH and high level of dynamic fatigues, as well as EMI/EMC, which was highlighted to be related to this type of application.
By initiating a new motor development, Sunon has provided advanced engineering support not only to validate the design and requirements of this new application, but also to bring live the product from its concept phase to its production stage for the specific needs of the application.
Infotainments such as GPS/Nav. systems, Digital Audio/Video/DVD players, etc.:
The integration of the fan in these applications remains highly critical, in addition to increasing the air flow requirements due to the increasing needs in power dissipations of electronics.
The challenge for the fan integration in this application module is not only for the ease of assembly, but also for the noise considerations of several interfaces - such as heat sink, mounting assemblies, finger guards, wiring and connector interfaces - which could influence the noise behaviour.
For this application, Sunon has not only tailored MagLev product range to the specific needs of the projects, but also provided guidelines and design templates to several key projects by local engineering support to excel fan design integration within the module.
